On Thursday, 9 July 2026, the activities of the second and final day of the Second International Conference on Applied Research in Social Sciences and Humanities were successfully concluded. The conference was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, in the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaman Sam Sharif, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, and under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Nawzad Rajab Zubair, Dean of the Technical College of Administration, with the participation of a number of universities and academic centers from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

During the first session of the second day, several scientific seminars were presented in four halls of the college with the participation of a number of faculty members and researchers, in both in-person and online formats.

During the second session, coinciding with the opening of the closing ceremony, the closing address of the conference was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Abboudi, Director of the Arab Democratic Center in Iraq. The conference recommendations and scientific proposals were also presented.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the members of the Organizing, Reception, and Media Committees, as well as to the individuals and supporting institutions that contributed to the successful organization of the conference, in recognition of their dedication and valuable efforts.

In this way, the conference achieved its scientific objectives and aspirations, while opening new avenues for research on the role of smart universities in sustainable development.
