Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, and under the auspices of the General Directorate of the Scientific Research Center – Directorate of Capacity Development and Laboratories, a workshop entitled “How to Write Scientific Research Papers” was held today, Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at the Presidency of Duhok Polytechnic University.

Prior to the commencement of the workshop, the University President welcomed Prof. Dr. Nazar Shabila, President of the Catholic University of Erbil, expressing her appreciation for his participation as the workshop lecturer at the Presidency of Duhok Polytechnic University.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Nazar Shabila, expressed his appreciation to the University President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Diyar Ahmed Saib Sadiq, Director General of the Scientific Research Center, and Prof. Dr. Masoud Abdulkarim Abdulrahman, Director of Capacity Development, for organizing this important scientific activity. He then began delivering the workshop, during which the following topics were discussed for more than 65 faculty members and researchers from Duhok Polytechnic University:

• Structure and framework of a scientific research paper.
• How to write an effective introduction.
• Writing the research content.
• Research methodology and results.
• Writing a strong discussion and identifying limitations.
• Writing conclusions and recommendations.
• Reference management software.
• Write the title and abstract.
• Improving the manuscript through writing guidelines, tables, figures, and scientific writing.

The General Directorate of the Scientific Research Center – Directorate of Capacity Development and Laboratories at Duhok Polytechnic University is expected to conduct several scientific and academic activities in the coming days as part of the 2026–2027 academic year plan.
