As part of ongoing efforts to advance academic curricula and prepare graduates for the labour market, Duhok Polytechnic University participated in a national workshop held in Baghdad. The workshop was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with support from the European Union, under the TVET III Project.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Sherwan Mustafa Saifaddin, Director of International Relations at Duhok Polytechnic University, and Dr. Faiz Saeed Faizy, Director of the Career Development Center (CDC). During the workshop, five key policies were introduced. In addition, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government presented its implementation plan based on the findings of a labour market survey, which identified the most critical skills and the major challenges associated with aligning technical education with labour market needs.

During the event, the representatives of Duhok Polytechnic University emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities and the public and private sectors to integrate Green Skills and digital skills into academic programmes. This initiative aims to equip students and enhance employment opportunities for graduates, thereby contributing to the development of a sustainable and circular economy.
