The sixth International Conference on Electromechanical Engineering and its Applications (ICEMEA-6)


Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and in the presence of representatives from both the Kurdistan regional government and the federal Government Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research along with several university presidents, their assistants, the Deputy Governor of Duhok, researchers, and professors from educational centers in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and eight other countries, the sixth International Conference on “Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and its Applications” (ICEMIA 2025) was held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The two-day conference was organized in cooperation with Duhok Polytechnic University, the University of Technology, the Northern Technical University, Al-Noor University, Al-Zahraa University, and Multaqa Al-Nahrain University College, and was held in the Azadi Hall of the Duhok Technical Institute.

The conference began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah in remembrance of the martyrs. “Professor Dr. Ari Adel”, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, delivered the welcoming address, emphasizing that the conference provides a valuable scientific platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise among researchers. Specialists and engineers from various countries including (United Kingdom, The United states, Russia, Australia, Malaysia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Iran) gathered to exchange information and expertise, discuss recent developments in renewable energy, mechatronics, industrial engineering, electronic systems, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, other disciplines, and to develop new strategy for knowledge based economic growth. The university president expressed her gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the region, the Federal Government, and all institutions that contributed to organizing this significant scientific event.

“Professor Dr. Mohsen Nouri Hamza”, President of the University of Technology, stated that organizing this conference in cooperation with public and private universities was a positive step, and he thanked the participating universities.

Following this, “Professor Dr. Amir Abdul Rahman”, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region, delivered the ministry's address, expressing appreciation to the participating universities and emphasizing the importance of such conferences, describing them as a positive step forward.

A speech was also delivered on behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Federal Government by its representative, “Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar”, President of the Northern Technical University. She commended the role of Duhok Polytechnic University and the participating universities for their ongoing efforts in organizing such conferences and scientific activities.

In conclusion, before the researchers presented their scientific papers, “Professor Dr. Ghassan Abdul Rahman” Bilal delivered the conference address, providing further details about the conference and noting that the research papers presented would be published in accredited scientific journals.

During the first workshop session, “Professor Dr. Jamal Mohammed” from Iran delivered the opening workshop of the conference. Conference abstracts were distributed in the presence of the presidents of the participating universities. In the evening, researchers presented their papers across four different halls.
