DPU participated in the ICSSD 2025 Conference on Sustainable Development

This morning in the city of Erbil, the 3rd International Conference on Sustainability Systems Development (ICSSD2025) commenced. The two-day event features the participation of a large number of researchers and academics from the Ministry of Higher Education, six universities, and several local and international research centers and institutions.

A high-level delegation from Duhok Polytechnic University took part in the conference, led by Professor Dr. Aree Adel, the university president, along with the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Dean of the Technical College of Engineering, the Dean of the Technical Institute of Amedi, six researchers, and a number of faculty members and university administrators.

During the conference, the university reaffirmed its commitment to supporting ongoing initiatives and scientific research, and to contributing efforts toward achieving sustainable development.

On the first day, four research papers were presented, and on the second day, two additional papers were presented by researchers from Duhok Polytechnic University as part of the conference sessions. These papers were submitted for publication in the following reputable peer-reviewed journals:

This conference was organized by the ACARES Center in collaboration with a group of international universities and institutions. Its primary themes focused on key areas aimed at advancing sustainable development in partner countries, such as:

  • Advances in Energy & Power Systems [E&PSs]
  • Advances in Health Sciences and Technologies
  • Advances in Green Manufacturing & Mechatronics
  • Advances in Climate & Environmental studies

The conference aims to strengthen cooperation between academic and research institutions in supporting scientific and technological solutions that serve the environment and promote sustainable development goals.
