A Training Workshop on the Risks of Narcotic Substances Conducted


Within the framework of the National Campaign Project to Combat Narcotic Substances, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ari Adel, President of Duhok Polytechnic University, the University Presidency, in cooperation with Barzani Charity Foundation,organized a scientific training workshop for a number of instructors from all colleges and institutes affiliated with the University.

The workshop was delivered by the trainer Miran Ahmed Saeed, with the aim of raising awareness among the University staff, so that the participants may, in the future, act as trainers and deliver this information through workshops to instructors and students across various sectors of the University.

Main Themes of the Workshop:

During this activity, several important points were addressed in detail, including:

Definition of Narcotic Substances: Identifying the types of substances and the stages leading to addiction.

Causes and Effects: Analyzing the main factors that drive young people toward narcotic substances and their negative impacts on the individual, family, and society.

Signs of Substance Use: How to recognize and identify indicators of individuals who are using substances.

Prevention and Treatment: Scientific approaches to protecting youth and ways to support affected individuals in recovery and treatment.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion, and several questions and remarks were raised regarding the topic, with the aim of developing a practical plan to spread awareness within the academic community.
