This study focuses on the destruction of Mosul’s Old City heritage after the 2016–2017 military operations and proposes a digital reconstruction approach to restore its historic urban facades. The research uses procedural modelling combined with Shape Grammar rules to capture the architectural identity of Mosul and automatically regenerate heritage facades while preserving their original stylistic and structural characteristics. Python-based generative algorithms were applied to produce 750 facade designs, demonstrating that automated rule-based modelling can effectively recreate the lost urban fabric and support heritage preservation and digital archiving.
