Duhok Polytechnic University Delegation participated in a training course at Oslo University.
A delegation of the Duhok Polytechnic University, led by the University President, Professor Dr. Aree Adel, Dr. Masood Abdulkareem, Dean of College of Health and Medical Technology, Dr. Abdulhakeem Othman, Dean of Zakho Technical Institute, Dr. Sherwan Mostafa, Director of International Relations Affairs participated in the five-days training course from 9 to 13 May 2022 at Oslo University, Norway. The UNIMED team directed and supervised this workshop in coordination with Oslo university. Four representatives from eight Kurdish universities (Duhok, Polytechnic Duhok, Zakho, Salaheddin, Sulaymaniyah, Halacha, Charmo, and Garmeian), five staff from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In addition to representatives from Pisa University, Evora University, and Murcia University. The training course topics belong to WP3 under the title: Strategic Planning, Management, and Quality Assurance: Capacity Building Action. The subjects were divided into eight main sessions over five days. Session 1: The Big Picture: General understanding of the framework of the Bologna process (ECTS, Qualification framework, ESG) Session 2: Implementing Bologna: Consequences, obligations, and division of labor Session 3: Norwegian government authorities in higher education. The Norwegian Ministry of Education’s role in the university system NOKUT – The Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education Session 4: Quality Assurance of studies at the University of Oslo Session 5: Management, inter-faculty research, technology, and startups. UiO: Life Science and The Life Science Growth house. UiO: Nordic and the upcoming UiO: Democracy. INVEN2 The UiO technology transfer office (TTO) Session 6: Panel on student and employee democracy Session 7: Research, ethics, and academic freedom. The Role of the National Research Council, Financing of Research in Norway.The role of the UiO Science Ombudsman. Research-based teaching, societal needs, and academic freedom. “External evaluation systems as a quality control mechanism .”Quality in Research at the UiO: How can we lead research(ers)? Session 8: Strategic planning: A way to secure quality and coherence in a university’s activities. “Planning – transparency, involvement and the formal decision processes”.
