Akre Technical Institute conducted a site visit to MRF recycling factory
On 1st of December 2019, the Career Development Center’s program coordinator at Akre Technical Institute Mr. Mohammad Saeed Shukri Conducted a site visit to MRF company specialised in waste recycling based in Akre city.
During the visit, Mr. Shaukat Mustafa the Company’s representative explained the factories sections and how they collect wastage from all the areas surrounding Akre for example, from Kalakche, Bardarsh, Sheikhan, and Dinarte. After that, Mr. Mustafa demonstrates the main work after waste collection which is sorting. Then states that there is a number of sorting mechanism which are manual sorting by company workers, mechanical sorting of plastics by size and automatic magnetic sorting of iron and aluminum materials. Final, Mr. Mustafa states that after sorting, the elements are grouped by type and then the sale of salable materials. Other residuals, such as glass and nylon bags, remain in a particular place.
The purpose of the site visit is to enhance students’ practical skills, and so students could transfer their theoretical knowledge in the workplace. Also to give a chance to the student to see how work is done in a real workplace area.
It is worth mentioning that the site visit was conducted for 160 students separated into two different groups. The Second-year Quality Management students and the Third-year Business Administration students participated in the site visit.
