About us
The Amedi Technical Institute was established by the Kurdistan Regional Government in 2004 as an academic institution in the region. However, because there were no locations and special buildings at first year, the Institute studied its first year at the Duhok Technical Institute in Duhok and in the following year moved to Amedi. At the beginning of the establishment, it was consist of the two sections (Computer Department and Business Administration Department). The name of Department of Computer in the academic year 2012-2013 was changed to the Information Technology (IT) to progress the level of scientific and expansion of the Institute and the new departments were opened. In 2011 the new building was built which was consist of study halls, laboratories, and the Deanship, as well as the internal departments (Accommodations) in an advanced manner. Marketing Management was opened in the academic year (2011-2012), as well as in the academic year 2012-2013 disease analyses and animal resources departments were opened. Tourism management department was opened in the year 2014. While the Department of Business was closed in the academic year 2014-2015. The Amedi Technical Institute belongs to the Duhok Polytechnic University DPU and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Currently, it consists of (7) scientific departments including (IT Information Technology, Marketing Management, Disease Analyses, Animal Resources, Tourism Management, Statistics and Information and Business Management). It should be noted that the Amedi Technical Institute has opened two sections (IT and Business Management) in evening shift for the academic year 2016-2017. Amedi Technical Institute through (12) graduation rounds from the beginning of the foundation until 2017 about 1568 students have taken the diploma of technical and continuing to serve Kurdistan Region.
Mission
Amedi Technical Institutes primary mission is to move forward the frontiers of human knowledge and technical practice, on the other hand, enrich the educational level of Kurdistan regional students. As well as achieving the following objectives

2-Developing Kurdistan Economic.
3-Arts and culture.
4-Global reach in different fields.
Vision
Amedi Technical Institutes lead an increasing number of educational activities and technical practice that involve and benefit the Duhok community, this continuing commitment to the public good through a variety of outreach activities such as Developing marketing, tourism, information technology, health and agricultural sectors.
