CDC participated in three-day UNESCO-TVET workshop in Erbil
On the 25th -27th November 2018, the Career Development Center at the Duhok Polytechnic University participated in three days workshop in Erbil. The workshop organised by the UNESCO on Reforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Iraq.
In day one, the workshop aimed to allow each career development centre to review all documentation concerning its future development. Also, there was an individual discussion between UNESCO consultant (Dr Brian Staines) and each CDC team.
Day two focused on work with employers and the importance of the private sector and its role in creating jobs as a primary workforce market for graduate students. Meanwhile, the CDCs teams meet some employers who were invited by the UNESCO from different parts of Iraq as guests.
Day three was an observation visit to the Career Development Center at Erbil Polytechnic University to shadowing the EPU/ CDC work and operation in addition to see Careers Advisory Board in action.
It is worth mentioning that all Technical Universities from all over Iraq were invited to attend the workshop. Moreover, Mr Bewar Sulaiman Haji and Mr Azad Piro Shaker participated in the workshop as the CDC representatives from the Duhok Polytechnic University.
